Once you have collected coins from your country, start to locate coins from around the world. There are coins from Africa, South Africa, Australia, Austria, Japan, China, England, Peru, Spain, France and Italy to name a few. You can contact their money exchange program and explain to them you are a coin collector and you would like to exchange one coin for another. Find out what the conversion rate is and make arrangements to send your money.
Another way is to shop online and find someone local or in the same country that may have the types of coins you are seeking and you can buy these coins without going through the trouble of writing to all of those countries. This way if you don’t get a coin from country then you can go ahead write those letters, but get as many as you can so you won’t have to do that many.
Coin collecting can be fun and exciting and once you get started it only gets better. You don’t have to collect everyone coin you come across or it may become a very expensive hobby. If you are serious about it then continue if you only want to do this as a side hobby, take your time, find the right coins. Read magazines on which types of coins are most sought after and which ones are popular. Begin with those and see where to you want to take it.
